okay somehow missed the memo that I need to blog about each of these things so here we go team:

1. Cathédrale de Chartres: hit this one already actually

2. Château de Versailles: LOVE LOVE LOVE. everything I expected it to be. highlight was renting a canoe, casually cruising out on king louis' lake, then realizing we had five minutes to haul ourselves gracefully back across the lake before getting charged more and let me tell you friends, I was grateful for every basket of balls georgy made me serve in the past because at this exact moment I had to use my entire reserve of shoulder strength and paddle ourselves to financial safety. very good times everyone. to be honest, I could have stayed in those gardens all day. it was the best weather I've seen on this side of the atlantic ocean and we were happy girls. touring the château itself was dreamy of course, gold everything. never have i ever seen such a display of extravagance.

3. Château de Fontainebleau: napoleon's crib, yeah. cool stuff. this i really enjoyed because unlike versailles, i could actually picture somebody living there and a country being run from there. it didn't look like the set for some ridiculously extravagant play, you know? you feel me? you pickin up what i'm putting down?

good.

4. Musée du Louvre: just know i've been THREE TIMES thus far. THREE TIMES PEOPLE. everything you've heard is true. it's magic, it sucks you in, and you walk like, miles in it so going to the louvre for sure counts as your run for that day. favorite pieces are the victory goddess "nike" which is a given, and then about a billion little ones that i could not name if i tried but i did especially love having dina explain the section on islamic art to me. everything is blue, and glass, and terribly complex. and written in arabic.

5.  Musée d'Orsay: ALSO LOVE!!!! this one i only go to go to once, which was nowhere near enough time, but i'll be back. don't you stress. i think my favorite part was the miniature but remarkably detailed 3d rendition of the opera house. seriously enchanting. orsay was less overwhelming, filled with art just as beautiful as the louvre, but felt more intimate for sure.

don't worry i'll be back real soon cause i have 900 assignments to write about BYE!
